DAY 8- Kanab to Page via Grand Canyon and the Day from Hell

The day started out well, with a beautiful blue sky and the wind had died down. We were a little late and set out on our own toward the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. ABout an hour later, we arrived on the North Rim. Although I hadn't put my hiking boots on, we decided to walk out to Angel Point, about a 1/2 mile walk into the Grand  Canyon. It was a bit scary with a narrow up and down pathway. We met up withLinda and Kathy and George and rather than eating at the Lodge, decided to head for Marble Canyon instead for lunch. We stopped for gas for Linda, just outside the park. About 1 hour later, we pulled off to strip off our fleeces, and started back down the hill into the desert . Shortly there after, Linda's Morgan crapped out on  a curve down the hill. We missed her so returned to find George trying to get Dasymay started with intermittent success. Meanwhile an Arizona highway patrolman stopped and informed us that the tow truck was picking up an accident, but would get to us. Mind you we were in the middle of the desert. the diagnosis-red paint from the gas tank getting into the fuel line and eventually wearing out the fuel pump. Three hours later, the tow  truck arrived and we followed  it to a Page garage, aftet 5 PM.. We will be
there at 0800 tomorrow to try to get her problems solved. Three margaritas and a shower later,I am lying in bed trying to write.
Roger and Lina arrived about 8 45 PM reporting some 95-100 mp to get here.

DAY 7- Kanab to Grand Canyon to Page

The Lacey's roadster is repaired and they are off to meet us in Page this evening. They have 600+miles to travel.

DAY 6 Zion to Bryce to Kanab

We managed to get up and out of our hotel so we could make it through the construction and tunnel out of Zion before 0900. This was our earliest day yet. We stopped for breakfast later at a cute place that had a buffet, eating up the food that had been prepared for an arriving bus. We overheard the cook calling for emergency help. It was a very windy drive to Bryce and back. The day was beautiful again, except for the wind. which really beat us up. We drove to all the view points in the park, with Linda riding around with Bob Murray so we wouldn't have to start her car too many times. Ice Cream was lunch, and we arrived at our hotel hoping for LInda's generator and voltage regulator to arrive. THe guys had decided they would change the regulator first. but lo and behold, the regulator didn't arrive. So another beg for an extension cord, and plugging in Linda to the trickle charger for the night. We all wandered over to the Grill next door to our hotel and had very large servings of ribs and steak. Not exactly the fine dining of the previous 2 nights, but people seemed quite happy with it. Early to bed and a window in our room we could open for fresh air. I had a good night sleep. Miss you all, and expecially Lola, Healey and Bentley.
